Verification protocol: where every number comes from

Before a figure goes on a page, it has to be traced to a primary source. Review sites quoting each other do not count, and neither does our own old copy. These are the sources I use, in this order:

• Ruby Fortune's Canadian T&Cs and promotions page for the welcome offer, wagering, minimum deposit, claim window and withdrawal rules.
• The Kahnawà:ke Gaming Commission permit-holder list for permit 00892 held by Baytree Interactive Ltd, which covers Canada outside Ontario.
• The iGaming Ontario directory and AGCO registration OPIG1237898 (Cadtree Limited) for rubyfortune.ca in Ontario.
• The Alderney eGambling licensee list for Baytree (Alderney) Limited, licence 155 C1.
• The official site's own banners and contact page for the game count ("over 450 casino games") and support channels.
• Dated web.archive.org snapshots when the casino site does not load from our location. The snapshot date goes into our notes, and we re-check once the live page opens.

How we fix mistakes

1. Spot

   A scheduled re-check finds a figure that no longer matches the casino. Offer terms and withdrawal rules are re-read first, because they change most often and matter most to your money.

2. Verify

   The new figure is confirmed on the official page, register or T&C clause. If two official pages disagree, the T&Cs win, and we mention the difference instead of picking the nicer number.

3. Correct

   The text, tables, FAQ and structured data are changed together, so the old figure does not survive in a corner of the page.

4. Log

   The change goes into the before/after table below with the old value, the new value, the source and the date. The "Updated" date in the byline moves too.

What counts as an error, and what we do about it

Not every change is a correction. A new daily deal is an update. A wrong wagering multiplier is an error. This is how we sort them:

A money figure is wrong (bonus, wagering, minimum deposit)

Fixed on the day it is confirmed and logged. These are the errors that could cost a player, so they jump the queue.

A licence or register detail is wrong

Replaced with the exact register entry (permit or registration number, holder name) and a link to the register so you can check it yourself.

A feature is described that the casino does not offer

Removed or rewritten, for example a phone line or a payment method missing from the Canadian cashier, and logged.

The casino changed its terms after we checked

Treated as an update: the page and the "Updated" date change; the log records it only when the old figure had been presented as current.

Typos, broken links, unclear wording

Fixed silently. They do not change what a player would do, so they do not go into the log.
